“Skinny Love” is a song that does not invite participation. It’s a solitary number; the antithesis of group work. This performance by Vernon and his band turns it into a celebratory, campfire sing-a-long. The reworking is a welcome surprise to what could have been just another performance. Come to think of it, this version is actually kind of perfect.
