I caught EMA last night at Red Palace. Erika M. Anderson has that ability to take you along with her on the journey to the center of self-loathing, but to watch her climb out of it and find those internal revelations is inspiring. The catharsis is overwhelming.

In a someone unrelated note, the beginning of this song always reminds me of John Mellencamp’s “Jack and Diane”. There’s a part of me hopes that is what she was going for when writing it.
